Follow-up Comment #2, bug #14074 (project mypaint):
Most likely your tablet/driver reports pressure before the stylus touches the
surface. This is a bug in your tablet/driver. The reason why you only see it
in MyPaint is because other applications (eg. GIMP) require you to reach the
mouse click pressure threshold before they start drawing.
Please have a look at the pressure value in xidump to verify this.
