Follow-up Comment #4, bug #14074 (project mypaint):

There are no specs that I know of, but I haven't looked for them yet
neither.

I think the wacom kernel driver also reports the proximity to the surface
before touching, but this information is not accessible through gtk.

Certainly the click threshold is not a feature that was targeted at
applications that make use of the different pressure levels directly...
requiring the same force to open a menu and to start painting seems like
nonsense to me.

So, how else could the driver tell the application where the touch threshold
is, except by having it fixed at zero? (Actually... maybe your driver even
/does/ have it at zero, and GTK rescales its range to fit into [0,1]?)
