Follow-up Comment #7, bug #15225 (project mypaint):
I got the same idea as Chris, but when I took the 0.71 libcairo-2.dll as
replacement for the one of 0.80 the problem got even worse: As a consequence
Photoshop CS2 crashed with the same error message as Mypaint did. I had to
reinstall my tablet-driver to make at least my commercial software run
properly.
