Follow-up Comment #6, bug #15509 (project mypaint):
You could probably write a whole PHD thesis just about how to implement a
fast high quality zoom (including color correction so the image doesn't get
brighter or darker, as it does now).
Makes me a bit sad, but I agree about closing this bugreport down, not
because there is no problem, but because it's a neverending story that would
be just sitting on our TODO list forever. It won't stop anyone willing to
work on this if there is no bugreport.
