You want dithering back. We are already working on this. Nice to see that
some users actually notice :-) (You are using git, I assume; this problem
should not occur in 0.8.x, at least not after saving.)
David Gowers already has some patches I need to check; in the worst case, we
could just revert http://gitorious.org/mypaint/mypaint/commit/f40b2b74160b8
