Follow-up Comment #5, bug #16555 (project mypaint):

In earlier versions, MyPaint would write a config file for that. Later, Jonas
Wagner has contributed patches to make it use gtk.RecentManager instead,
which, as far as I know, is supposed to work in-between applications somehow.
I have no clue what the benefit is supposed to be, but it's the GTK way. If I
had known shaky this feature is (this is not the first problem with it), I
would probably have prefered to stay with config files instead...
I guess gtk.RecentManager is supposed to work on Windows, too. Someone should
check what the problem is...
