Follow-up Comment #3, bug #17024 (project mypaint):
I've added my own stab at this at
http://gitorious.org/mypaint/mypaint/commits/dockable-panels and it seems
mostly workable right now. There are a few rough edges to it:
- extra titlebar for tool floating windows, which is a little
icky but necessary to support dragging
- I hate having to turn off UI-hidden mode when I enter
fullscreen. Perhaps this should be saved to the prefs and
restored, but not automatically turned on upon entering
fullscreen.
- subwindows which are created that are not tool subwindows do
not have their positions saved or managed.
- The canvas jumps by the width of the sidebar when the sidebar
is hidden or shown for any reason
- Should we really remember and restore fullscreen mode on app
startup? Is that even a good idea?
but for now it's working. Just about. Have asked for reviews and opinions in
the forums and on the mailing list and IRC.
