Follow-up Comment #8, bug #17947 (project mypaint):
Debian has a recent enough pygtk in testing since 2011-05-17. Judging from
the ubuntu package search, the next Ubuntu release (oneiric) will also have it
(release in mid-October).
The only major remaining problem is Windows, which has a separate bugreport
for this (bug #18186).
