Follow-up Comment #1, bug #19070 (project mypaint):
I'm getting the same behaviour. Some additional notes:
0 All custom (e.g. not supplied at install) brushes fail to show a border.
0 Some default (supplied at install) brushes fail to show a border.
0 All custom brushes appear as a modified "Unknown Brush" with no icon in the
toolbar's brush selector and quickbrush settings.
0 Default brushes that don't show a selection border otherwise seem to act
normally, in both brush and toolbar behaviour.
0 This occurs in both a fresh config (./mypaint -c ~/mptmp/) and my normal
config.
0 There is no relevant console output.
