What's expected surely varies between users?
1/ I'm actually OK with resetting to the default colour when opening a new
copy of MyPaint, given that we also reset to the default background. However
the default colour is hardcoded; it would be nice if there were some way of
setting it. IMO, the user-settable default background should have similar
behaviour to any user-settable default colour, for consistency.
Perhaps this requirement could be folded into bug 18759. I think new UI for
setting a -single- default colour is overkill, but if we're introducing stuff
for saving colour presets anyway... well, there may be some sort of
commonality we can use.
2/ MyPaint does not explicitly save colour history inside saved .ora files.
It does however save a list of brushstrokes in the order they were applied and
we currently use the last one's colour when loading. Perhaps we could have a
deeper dig in the strokemap and populate the history from unique values?
