Follow-up Comment #1:
Oops, yes. The new scale overlay also messes with the frame when it fades
out. Since I'm working on Cairo canvas overlays right now, maybe I'd better
rejig the frame code too.
Also, if you zoom into the frame area too far, such that no frame edges are
visible, the frame isn't drawn. But only in mirror mode when the view is not
rotated, which is strange.
