Nice spot.
The fact that it's happening for you right away with default settings is
probably windowmanager-specific. Doesn't happen with my Xfce4 settings, but it
is a bug.
This can also be triggered by setting View → Toolbars to "Menubar Only", and
then clicking on the menu. The menu will trigger - but so will the command,
and further presses of space will trigger the menu again because its button
now has keyboard focus. All very confusing. I'll have a look at focus
acceptance and what we return when space is handled within MyPaint.
