Thanks for taking my proof-of-concept and fixing it up to be suitable for
integration into the main branch.
I am quite happy with its current behaviour, and it seems to work fine here.
For the off-screen mark, I think your chevron suggestion pointing to which
side of the window you are positioned off is the cleanest approach to this.
