Well, I'd say, "not impossible" :-)

I'd personally prefer to give it another month or two. I don't see a big
point in matching release dates with events, but on the other hand this
might a good way to increase our relatively slow release pace.

Agree with your list. And any regression that might appear on the
bugtracker.

Yes, those are the ones to get the 1.0 "feeling", not just the label :-)
Agree, and there are probably a few more on the bugtracker.

In addition, work on the presets:
- Reduce amount of brushes in deevad set
- Ensure the brushes praised often in online discussion are included
  by default (at least Ico_Crazy_Line sould really be included again)
- Remove some of the old low-res background patterns (which?)

If we want to stick to the time frame that you have set, I would say you'd
have to get this into git almost immediately.  Otherwise we might not have
the chance to react to feedback from git users.

Yes we can, but we'll probably have to take a few shortcuts. If you want to
push this, it's okay with me.
