Can you use the actual IP address and get it to work? If so, then ping localhost and ping tux and make sure the IP that you believe it should be is actually being returned.

If I use '-h localhost' in the command it will work, but my hostname on my box is tux. If i use '-h tux' for the hostname option, it will not work. I double checked my /etc/hosts and everything is as it should be there. Is there anything I am doing wrong? What should I do to be able to connect to it on my LAN? > Tim > -- > ______________________________________________ > Check out the latest SMS services @ http://www.linuxmail.org > This allows you to send and receive SMS through your mailbox. > > > Powered by Outblaze > > -- > MySQL General Mailing List > For list archives: http://lists.mysql.com/mysql > To unsubscribe: http://lists.mysql.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED] > -- MySQL General Mailing List For list archives: http://lists.mysql.com/mysql To unsubscribe: http://lists.mysql.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]
