I would like to try mySQL but I only see distributions for 2.5.1 Solaris
and above. I run 2.5 and can not in the near future upgrade. Will the 2.5.1
version run on 2.5 or are 2.5.1 libraries required?
Your note that GNU tar is required for unpacking the distribution; I get
a Solaris tar error at end-of-file. Tried to download from your page the
2.5.1 gtar-solaris but get a "Cannot execute binary file" error
gtar-solaris: Exec format error. Does something have to be done to the
gtar distribution for it to be used?
