You may want to try to change your playback profile to slim or normal. I have seen another user who had the same issues when using the CPU+ profile.

Any attempt to run a recorded video from my 10.4 backend (updated to 23.1) causes X to crash and GDM to present me with a fresh login. This system appears to work fine with 10.4.
