Can you send be the output of "mythbackend -v record" from PBS past the point where the video stops working? I only had a 2 minute clip so there may be some problem after a while that I didn't see.
I also forgot to initialize _seq_seen which may have been the problem. Here's a patch that fixes that problem: http://www.mrl.nyu.edu/~danielk/mythtv/hdtv-recorder-v35.tbz

Strange, the problem occurs at a different point in each recording that I try. In this particular example, I can fastforward until I hit the 4 minute mark in the show -- which would approximately be 17:50:55.
