Same with DVB-T in Australia. They transmit the same wide-screen format continuously and add pillarboxing (vertical black bars) for 4:3 material. SD is a mix of 720x576i and 704x576i, differing between stations. HD is 576p and some stations user a higher number of interlaced lines; I don't remember what it is though.
