Sorry for taking so long to get back to this. I was preoccupied with other things for a while. First, you are querying a number of settings from within loops. This causes Myth to needlessly fetch things over and over again from the database. The relevant settings should be queried once per scheduler pass. > 3) Apply always. This turns OverTime into a hard setting, which MythTV > will always obey even if this means creating a conflict. Second, I agree with Bruce that this option isn't needed. The existing per-rule start-early and end-late settings can handle this. To mitigate the tediousness of always using these, I further agree there should be default values for these that are always used when a new recording rule is created. If we can't reach a consensus, Isaac, Bruce, myself and the other core contributors will decide what to do. Personally, I'm happy with the status quo since I have reasonably accurate guide data and have no problems manually adjusting my recording scheduls as needed. However, I am sympathetic with those users with less reliable guide data and their potential need for some form of "softer" scheduling. David -- David Engel [EMAIL PROTECTED]
