Yes I think that is the best solution for right now.

I'll save this thread and when I get some time will come back to it and look into what would be needed to add some of the features we've discussed. Actually, since you obviously do some perl programming yourself, you might look through mythrename.pl and use the parts of it that do the user interface to update rebuilddatabase.pl. You could probably add the features you want fairly easily.

For right now, with this being an issue of rather minor importance, it is probably best not to put too much more time into changing the script, but just get it working so that others can use it.
