Where can i get more information on building themes ?
or should i just study examples in order to figure it out ?
I've visited the link mentioned below, but didn't find it that helpful(yes I'm a noob) ";-)

That link has nothing to do with menu themes which is waht he wants to do,..
To the OP:
You can modify the menus and placew them in a subdirectory under your theme directory, then select them as a menu theme.
