Bad letter.

The first statement in it vindicates the author of the article:

"In truth, there may be a few people out there who are using MythTV 
for ill ends,"

No one who reads this letter is going to give a flying fig about anything 
that comes after that statement, let alone the editor of the NYT, who 
likely won't even read past it.

The problem here is that without the negative connotations that villify 
us, this article would not be a story, at least not to the NYT. Dirt sells 
newspapers, happy thoughts do not.
