So then, all things considered, you'd recommend the tv-out on the 6600. I
lose the on-board decoding of the 350, but the CPU is AMD64 3800, so I
should be fine. Now - and maybe I'm being dense - the issue of X over the
tv-out of the 6600. My presumption is that I'll do most of what I can with
tho box hooked to my monitor. At some point, I'll move it and hook it to
the TV. From here on out, I could work on it via VNC and PuTTY, or I could
enable X over the tv-out and work on it that way (this is both the backend
and frontend box). If using Myth is going to require X over the tv-out
anyway, then I might as well do that. If it doesn't then I have other
factors to consider (using other X apps via the tv). So, my real question
is, does Myth require me to enable X over the tv-out or can Myth use the
tv-out with-out X? If Myth does not require X, which method is
easier/preferred - X over tv-out, or not. Again, sorry for being dense.

I guess if I had read the subject line again, most Q's would
have been answered. I've got a squeezebox too (actually 3).
Ripping CDs and DVDs with Myth is painfully slow.

If you only watch TV or other mpeg-2 content on the 350
TV-out, you're fine. Anything else, it does not seem like it
is worth the hassle. I've seen the tv out of the 350 compared
to my s-video on an fx-5200, and I'm not all that impressed.
Also, there is no hope if you want to play games using any
of the emulators (or any game for that matter).

Make sure that if you want to use the Slim Devices web interface,
just put it into the Websites and then go through Mythweb to
assign a shortcut to it.

The MythMusic feature is ok, but the lack of some of the
features of slim have kept me from using more than I
absolutely have to.
