Use either VGA or DVI for the best picture quality. > Can anyone please explain to me why XVID's etc. won't play (nicely) > through the 350's out? Wouldn't it be possible to use the fb and simply > tell mplayer to play though it? I'm lost ? as usual... I believe the answer is because the PVR-350 is an MPEG-2 hardware decoder and anything that's not MPEG-2 has to be transcoded to play. If you use either VGA or DVI, you won't have to worry about this. Since you've got the option of a VGA or DVI input on your display, I wouldn't even bother with the PVR-350's TV out. Mike.
