I don't know exactly what I did, but it's all working now! I think the main thing was that I put 'tuner=50' in modprobe.conf, as this was what was reported by tveeprom (even though everyone said to use tuner=39)Tom Lichti wrote:

Some more info. I was just reading about newer 250 cards (mine is I believe a model 986 or 976, don't recall exactly. It's definitely NOT a 980) having an LG tuner, and requiring 'tuner=39' in the modprobe file, which I will try tonight. Here is my setup:
Fedora Core 3 with all latest RPM updates IBM Netvista A40P (PIII 1G, 256MB, 30GB) Video in: WinTV PVR250 (Conex. chipset) Video out: Nvidia GForce 4 MX 440 MythTV .16
I also found a bit about 'SPDIF pass through' which I will have to double-check. I didn't enable it (don't have any SPDIF stuff) but I may have done it by accident during one of my quick run-through's of the settings.
Sorry for not researching BEFORE I posted...
Sound works, channel changing works, I'll find out later tonight if scheduled recording works.
I did notice that the video quality is fairly degraded compared to my cable box. Anything I can do about that?
Thanks Tom
PS It's been fun talking to myself... :) _______________________________________________ mythtv-users mailing list [email protected] http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users
