<...> I'm actually very happy with the reception I get from the attic antenna. My situation is that I've got a Channel Master 4228 pointed at the spot where all my area's commercial towers are (roughly 20mi). I get a strong lock (65-95%) on all the commercial stations, even those which broadcast with weak signals. Our PBS channel broadcasts from a location 165 degrees from the commercial channels (also about 20m away). So I'm picking it up off the back of the ChannelMaster. However, the PBS station is *very* strong and I can pick it up with no problem if I point my indoor Silver Sensor at it. > True, but everything else being equal, a card with better > performance will pick up a signal with lower S/N. Yes, exactly. <...> > It's actually rather difficult since all of them have proprietary > stuff on board. HD-[23]k uses Oren-brand chips. According to a thread on the dev list (http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/engine?do=post_view_printable;post=107158;list=mythtv) the Air2PC uses an nxt2002. Anyway, I think I'll buy the Air2PC. If that works for me, great. If not, I'll try an HD3000. If that doesn't work either, I'll just hook a different antenna to one, point it to PBS, and have done with it. I want to have multiple cards anyway. I might as well use it as an opportunity to experiment. ;) Drew
