IIRC, that's to do with having one of the channels on your sound card wrongly turned up. The sound should get mixed with the video by using the line in as a capture channel. If you have the sound coming in and straight out again through line out then you get 2 streams of sound - one in realtime as the signal comes in and the other being captured (and played back if you're watching live tv). So you need to turn down the line out sound in your mixer (alsactl or whatever) because the signals still coming in through the tuner card even though you're not watching anything and it's being played straight out again. I'm sure I've got my terms wrong in this description so sorry if it's not clear, but I hope you have the jist of it. Regards, Phill
