Yes, this can be done. Sort of. I figured out a hack to do this, but it assumes you don't use Mythvideo for anything else. Set your Mythvideo directory to /mnt/dvd (or whatever you use). Then, when you put a DVD in the drive, refresh the Mythvideo list, and then you can play the files from the DVD through Mythvideo. You can also edit the xml file that defines the ui for the Optical Discs section to put shortcuts there. If you like I can post the specifics when I get home. I think it makes a lot of sense to have this functionality built in. It would be pretty simple to do, and it makes watching archived data DVDs much more viable.
