After getting fed up with the noise that my server was making, I drilled a
hole in our living room floor and put the MythTV server in the basement.  

I run it all from the living room above the basement (keyboard, mouse,
monitor, TV, USB 2.0 DVD/CD, Wingman wireless joystick).  

I ordered extra long cables from  http://www.cablesforless.com/.  It turned
out to be FAR cheaper and much more effective than trying to silence the PC
with new fans/heat sinks/HD dampening systems, etc.

I can't hear a peep...
