I had never touched Linux before Myth.

I took the plunge, and with the help of this list, the archives,
Google and some linux pro mates, I have a backend system that is
running fulltime and is up for weeks on end. It only ever gets
powered down to install hardware.

The funnier thing is, I ditched my Windows XP laptop, have installed
Firefox, Thunderbird, OpenOffice, GAIM and JDeveloper on my backend
box and use Linux for my everyday tasks. I will likely continure to
work in this way until I find a new laptop that can run what I want
and can run a decent linux distro such as FC.
