I had this problem.  Sound in FC3, all volumes in Kmix all they way
up, but no sound in myth.  It was a result of not loading everything
necessary in my modprobe.conf  file.  Are you using IVTV version 2?
(or 0.2...not exactly sure what their versioning is).  If so, see if
these lines are in your /etc/modprobe.conf file:

alias tveeprom tveeprom-ivtv
alias msp3400 msp3400-ivtv

If not, add them.  I added those near the top of my modprobe.conf,
rebooted, and magically I had sound in myth.
