Yeah, I've used NFS for years but for some bizarre reason it hangs every
so often between my myth frontend box and the backend, even though both
run Fedora Core 3.   Very odd hang in that the normal things -- stopping
and restarting NFS on both systems -- doesn't stop the hang (or save the
poor hung programs like myth), it just comes back on its own in 10 to 20
minutes (far past any timeouts.)   

However the good news is that about all you can't do without nfs is
transocde on a a different machine than created the file.
