Huh. Well, you definitely have enough CPU, so I'm not certain where to look. I 
had problems that were similar to that until I switched some audio drivers 
and output settings around a bit. Native ALSA output of the digital signal 
over spdif made a big difference for me.

Had to take the clips down, they were causing a bit too much traffic on the 
web server. If you can't find one elsewhere, let me know, and I can get you 
another 1080i clip to work with.

Nothing really, aside from trying to adjust some of your audio settings. My 
main box has been absolutely flawless handling HDTV material for months now.
