I don't have one, but when you think through what each does you'll see it. I am assuming that the directTV box will have to stay. I think I've read that here a few times. That said the direct tv box is a decoder. You will have to decode the signal before recording it, so you will attach then myth box after the direct tv box.
You'll also need a way of changing the channels on the directtv box to make scheduling work. I've heard mention of both IR blasters and serial ports although I thin kI have also heard that there are no activated serial ports on directtv boxes. I'm going to stop talking about things I thkn and let the people who know answer now. I do know that the myth box will have to be getting the decoded signal from the direct tv box.
