Alas, still no luck.

I have pasted the relevant sections of my XF86Config file below.  If anyone
has any advice for me, I'd really appreciate this.  (I'm using an nVidia
MX4000 PCI card)  Also, a new development is my picture is now grayscale.
No more color :(

Thanks Rick, I'll give that a try.

All I tried was the sample nVidia config file for X when I installed the
drivers.  I'll take a look inside to be sure that it contains all the
settings.
