I will say that my MX4000 AGP card wouldn't even work with the 6629 drivers, in a different system I could get video, but very corrupt video. I thought I was losing my mind until I tried a different model (5200) and it worked instantly in the same system. I had the old card working at one point with older drivers, but I was never able to replicate. YMMV.

Alas, still no luck.

I have pasted the relevant sections of my XF86Config file below. If anyone
has any advice for me, I'd really appreciate this. (I'm using an nVidia

No more color :(

Subject: Re: [mythtv-users] Mythbox hangs with TVOUT

Thanks Rick, I'll give that a try.

All I tried was the sample nVidia config file for X when I installed the
drivers. I'll take a look inside to be sure that it contains all the
settings.

Chris.

Are you using the nvidia drivers? Do you have all of the nvidia setting in the x config file. Instead of loading nv, load the nvidia driver and set TVStandard and the TVOutFormat. I also needed to load the ConnectedMonitor "TV" for my nvidia card.

I hope this helps

Hi All,

My Knoppmyth box works absolutely perfectly in

every respect (finally)

EXCEPT for the most important one :(

TVOUT just won't work.

To put it all in perspective. I have a P4 1.8GHz,

512Mb RAM all in an Aopen

XC Cube with onboard sound.

I've tried both a nVidia GeForce2 MX200 as well as

a nVidia MX4000 (PCI)

which both work really well in my lab using CRT /

LCD screens. As soon as I

use the TVOUT (composite on the MX200 and S-Video

with a converter to

composite on the MX4000) the box boots up

perfectly, but as soon as the

Frontend loads, it freezes. If I have a keyboard

plugged in, it's stone

dead and even num and caps lock doesn't turn on the

light. Without the

keybaord (using lirc) same thing happens. The

system doesn't respond to the

remote.

Unplug the TV, plug in the CRT and everything is

back to normal again.

The logical thing to think of first is the

XF86Config, but I'm doubtful that

the problem is there, because when the system

freezes, I can see (very

clearly) the frontend in all it's beauty, but it

just won't respond to any

inputs.

As an aside, while watching the boot process, I see

the frontend load and

it's immediately unresponsive, however, the hard

disk continues to work with

it's light flashing for about 10 seconds after

everything has locked up.

Also, I have exactly the same symptoms with using

either the vesa or the

"nv" drivers in my X config.

Has anybody else experienced something similar and

has anyone found a

solution? I'd really appreciate some pointers.

Thanks
Chris.
