Does anybody know how to enable XvMC support in verision 0.17? Or is it
something that is enabled automatically if it's available?
If you installed via apt-get or yum, you'll have to compile your own.
If you compiled your own, make sure you uncommented the XvMC sections
in settings.pro
Damn, was afraid of that ;-)
Do you know if it is a technical "impossibility" that this isn't an option that can be turned on/off or has it just not been implemented?
Thing is that both backend and frontend are completely installed using
apt/yum packages (yes, even a patched xorg with via dri/xvmc support for
my Epia M10000) so making it possible to get even this option "packaged"
would be great.
ATrpms has plans to provide some alternate builds in the near future, including:
1) a build with nVidia XvMC enabled 2) a build with Unichrome XvMC enabled 3) a build with FireWire support enabled
You'll have to jump through extra hoops to install them, the current packages will still get installed by default.
Ok, that would be great!
But that still leaves my question if this is somehow the only viable solution or could this things be compiled in and turned on/off with options within Myth? (like the LCDproc support for example)
