Those tables aren't used any more as of 0.17.
After upgrading you need to set up your channels from scratch. Use the setup program and do a scan.
In the sql dump, the dtv_multiplex table would be more interesting.

Thanks for responding, I'm still stuck here. Been redoing the configs night after night. I never upgraded from previous, this is the first install. I grabbed the latest rpms which happened to be 0.17. Ok, so that's why tables were empty.

I too see exactly the same issue. I built 0.17 from source, and am not upgrading from 0.16. I used ./setup and did a scan which seems to find the channels okay. Then I run mythfilldatabase. Then when I run mythtv I see the same error about PIDs missing.
