Could you provide any guidance (a link, or some kind words) to tell me how to do that??? I set up my ALSA per Jarod's Guide... that's about all I know...

The e-mail ealier recommended I go from playing the sound through "dmix" to the ALSA hardware. Any suggestions/clarifications are much appreciated.

That is how the video is synced to the audio (unless video as
timebase is selected).  You also might want to check out your xorg log
file for anything fishy in there.  You can get more log information on
the console by starting mythfrontend with the '-v playback' or '-v
