Depends on source and system; he may very well not get any frame drops (cause of most PVR-x50 sync problems, as far as I can figure) or simply might not notice slight drift. I've never done it (because my Myth box is headless and my main PC is Windows), but judging by VideoRedo's output report, I could get away with cutting (almost) all of my MPEGs in avidemux2 without sync problems.
