[mythtv-users] .18 CPU optimizations

Would there be any upside/downside to recompiling mythtv with different 
proccessor optimizations if I have an Athlon XP? I know there was 
discussion recently about putting the optimization flags back to 
pentiumpro (I think).

If there is a benefit, how would I go about doing that if I installed 
via Axel's mythtv-suite? Would I just download the src RPM for mythtv, 
install and change the spec file? I've done that before with other stuff 
but I'm not sure how everything works with the various mythtv packages.
