exact link, sorry i'm at work at the moment).
Expand the source tree, go into the driver directory,
run
make install
as root and reboot. That should be it really.

Right, its now installed.. No warnings about the version in the log etc..
However, running anything in vo=xv results in sound but a messed up
green and purple screen. x11 still works but still out of sync. any ideas?
