Most common DVB-S cards are supported by the linux-tv drivers. See specific cards at
http://www.linuxtv.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/*checkout*/dvb-kernel/linux/Documentation/dvb/cards.txt
The wiki on linuxtv.org has install info.

As I want to replace my external FTA receiver with card, I am still trying to figure out if the newer versions of some of these common cards are already supported.(Eg. the new Twinhan 102G DVB-S card, a newer version of the popular Twinhan 1020a; available for a bargain on ebay at the moment; or the Skystar 2 rev. 2.6D DVB-S card (only revs up to 2.6C are listed).

Good luck,
Johan

Subject: [mythtv-users] DVB-S cards

HI all

Another question as I work my way through things and getting closer to starting.....

Does MythTV work with DVB-S satellite cards? Just wondering as I found one that is designed for Foxtel and could be a solution to recording the digital stream direct (http://www.lakopacific.com/public/showProduct.asp?id=915). More research needed on that but has potential...

Cheers
Bruce
