I had originally installed on FC3 following Jarod's excellent guide. I decided I'd like to try out the xv stuff so downloaded, built and installed the latest driver (0.3.6n) during install it complained about the ivtv modules from atrpms, so I moved them out of the way. Made & installed utils and copied new ivtvdev_drv.o in X11. Ran depmod. However when I reboot my /var/log/messages keeps telling me that I'm running 0.2.0 (rc3j) which was the old version. I've checked and double checked and can't find the reason, running find only shows three locates for the .ko files /lib/modules/2.6.11-1.27_FC3/ivtv, my backup of the originals (in my home directory) and the build of the new files (also in my home directory). All help much appreciated. Ant. Modinfo tells me it loaded the correct module. filename: /lib/modules/2.6.11-1.27_FC3/ivtv/ivtv.ko ... <snip> ... description: iTVC15_16 driver license: GPL version: 0.3.6-n vermagic: 2.6.11-1.27_FC3 686 REGPARM 4KSTACKS gcc-3.4 depends: videodev,i2c-algo-bit srcversion: C23E4B42A83C099403B8C53 My log output is as follows: Jun 17 21:42:40 olympus kernel: ivtv: ==================== START INIT IVTV ==================== Jun 17 21:42:40 olympus kernel: ivtv: version 0.2.0 (rc3j) loading Jun 17 21:42:40 olympus sshd: succeeded Jun 17 21:42:40 olympus kernel: ivtv: Linux version: 2.6.11-1.27_FC3 686 REGPARM 4KSTACKS gcc-3.4 Jun 17 21:42:40 olympus kernel: ivtv: In case of problems please include the debug info Jun 17 21:42:40 olympus kernel: ivtv: between the START INIT IVTV and END INIT IVTV lines when Jun 17 21:42:41 olympus kernel: ivtv: mailing the ivtv-devel mailinglist.
