nobody said they were... but for $250... wow, it sure blows the 80-20 rule all to hell ;) Check this out... We had a major plumbing flood in our house a couple days ago, so the cleanup guys have like 8 fans and three dehumidifiers running downstairs. They make so much racket that my wife and I can't watch a thing downstairs. So... What do I do? I burn a few DVD's with MPEG-4 High Definition episodes of Lost, Alias and Law and Order, bring the LP2 upstairs, plug it into my TV, and Viola! We're watching HDTV that was recorded by MythTV upstairs where I have no network! How cool is that. For $250, I might as well buy another one to live permanently upstairs, run a network cable and call it a day. WAF is high... Life is good. No.. It's not a full mythfrontend, but my wife is sick of having *so much control* over our viewing experience, and my kids just want their Arthur and Berenstain Bears. By the way... the term: "Once you have a working configuration" is quite humorous. It has taken me a year to get the right balance of nVidia drivers, processor, modeline, distribution, XRANDR, shell scripts, etc.. to get almost to where I want. With issues like not being able to switch video resolutions on the fly, overscan (still not resolved), delicate CPU (better not run a transcoding job while trying to watch 1080i), $100 VGA -> Component adapter, and on and on, it's nice to fire up a set top box, and let the problems be somebody else's for once. -- John <>< _______________________________________________ mythtv-users mailing list [email protected] http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users
