Thanks for the correction David. I'd searched Gossamer to see what I could find (I don't use mplayer much but recall a lot of similar questions) and scanned the following article http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/mythtv/users/60827. I wrongly interpreted it to mean a list of hardware devices and not card.device.
