I know I'm not supposed to answer my own posts, but that's what
happens when I post before I do enough research....

for those who don't know.. kernel-devel doesn't actually install the
files needed to compile. You have to find the actual SOURCE (found
here: http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/updates/4/SRPMS/
) THEN install, move, unpack, gyrate, do the rosary, and pray....
