You probably should have used 64-bit thermal grease.

Theoretically there should be a big improvement, but a lot of the  
apps have not been well optimized for 64-bit. They seem to think  
they're done when they get it to compile and run. I'm afraid that  
until the gamers pick up on 64-bit there won't be too much pressure  
to speed things up.
