Subject: Troubleshooting MZmine 2.9
Dear Matej
I am a Post Doc by University of Trento. I have worked with MZmine in the past
3 year during my PhD and recently I upgraded to 2.9 version.
I have two questions to ask you, because I have encountered few problems by
working with the new version.
First question regards the m/z parameters. I saw that now it is possible to
select the range in m/z or ppm. If I modified only the m/z part, without
changing default ppm value (5 ppm if I am not wrong), does MZmine use just m/z
parameter, just ppm or both??
The tolerance is calculated as a maximum of the ppm (relative) and m/z
(absolute) values.
In other words, if you set the tolerance to 5 ppm or 0.001 m/z, the tolerance
will be 5 ppm of the mass but never less than 0.001 m/z.
Second question, which is more a problem than a question; I have tried to
export the data matrix into a *.csv file (as I previously did with other
versions) but when I opened the file into excel, I was not able to to delimit
each data column. Have tried the same with MZmine 2.2 and I did not encounter
the same problem. Do you have any suggestion for that?
Our telepathic unit is out of order, so please send us the file so we can take
a look at it.
Cheers,
Tomas
